Speed VS Stability
This year is different. This birthday is different.
There’s something about turning 33 that hits differently this time around.
Looking back in my life, speed has been my main asset.
In sports, I was always one of the fastest.
In law enforcement, I was one of the youngest.
In business, the goal was to grow the quickest.
Eventually, after several injuries and multiple surgeries it took a toll on my body.
Eventually, time sets in and there’s a new “rookie” that joins lineup.
I diligently climbed this metaphorical mountain of “success” only to realize that I didn’t like the view.
Speed.
It’s a great asset, but like any other tool it’s only effective when used at the right time.
I chose speed over stability.
I built on a fragile foundation, myself.
My ego fed my need to go fast, aka my “need for speed” for all my gamers out there 🏎️😎
My ego kept me from seeing the long-term gains and instead focus on short term wins.
I found myself thinking, “Is this really it?”
I’m thankful for the lessons and insights, but this year is different.
Stability.
Foundational development.
I’m excited for this new season in life.
I’m optimistic about this direction God’s leading me into.
There’s still plenty of uncertainty ahead, but I know it’ll work itself out.
Stability.
To have the ability to withstand the storms of life with zero to minimal negative effects.
You don’t get that from speed.
You create that from stability.
Cheers 🍻
